Well, freshly back from Tampa, where I reviewed yet again the hazards of home ownership and passive armchair investing (and being taken by unscrupulous huxsters), I've returned to inform the world of the latest in salsa…but before we get to the Bay Area…
SalsaCrazy, as you all know, recently hosted the First Annual Hawaii Salsa Dance Festival, and is now returning to Paradise, to join forces with the established 7th Annual Puerto Rican Cultural Salsa Fest, for Salsathon! That's right, it's time to plan on returning with SalsaCrazy to paradise, this June. I mean it, this is a stellar event, and will be a great six month vacation (until we return to Hawaii in the February of 2008).
Salsathon …
"Since it's beginning in 2001 our celebration of El Dia de San Juan, Puerto Rico and fundraiser aka: Hawaii SALSATHON has been recieved with open hearts and tons of Aloha!
We sincerely hope that you will consider joining us this year as we celebrate our love for our heritage, our brothers and sisters around the world and of course our love of SALSA, while helping to generate funds for a worthwhile organization."
So, plan on it…
I'll be bringing you the full schedule later this week so you can save the dates, and prepare your vacation. Remember, you'll be in paradise, so give yourself some extra time!
This week, in San Francisco Salsa
So, this Tuesday, it's Mojitos (the once a week Timba party in North Beach). Wednesday, La Luna Azul (the brand new party in Downton San Francisco, Thursday, things are getting Salsa Crazy - and I mean it. Salsa Dancing in the East Bay is going to take over the whole bay . . .
Two massive clubs, back to back, both with stellar acts, and both with a lineup of Thursday nights that are bound to cause some serious waves through the Bay Area salsa scene. This Thursday, at Karribean City we've got Jimmy Bosch, backed up by Anthony Blea, this will be an amazing concert. Also, just a few blocks away, Avance will be rocking the house at the newly reopened Maxwells. That's two amazing acts, back to back!
And then, this Friday, if that wasn't enough, Cigar Bar has a great lineup of Salsa acts on both Friday and Saturday, and Cocomo has DJ Ivette and Julio Bravo this Saturday too. And there's more salsa too, but that's enough of an update for now. The next few days are just absolutely amazing, and it's only getting hotter . . .
Oh, and of course, Bachata Dance Crazy, Bachata Dancing Mastery System, is a breakthrough set of instructional dance videos that are selling extremely well. Have you gotten your copy yet?
More news soon…
