CUBAMEMUCHO IN ODESSA, UKRAINE
4th till 6th July 2008
Hey Ukraine! Are you ready to experience a weekend of HOT Cuban dancing, workshops and performances?
Cubamemucho is putting together a world tour of Cuban Salsa Congresses. Previous Cuban Congresses were in Munich, Germany and Krakow, Poland and I heard they were HOT, HOT, HOT!
This event offers 30 Dance Workshops, Gala nights, Gala shows, International DJs, Dance performances, Salsa Cubana, Rueda de Casino, Rumba Cubana, Guaguanco, Yoruba, Yambu, Colombia, Son, Danzon and Chachacha.
It looks like they have a great line up of Cuban Dance instructors and performers. One of the highlights of the event is Seo Fernandez.
Here's some info on Seo: He was born in Cuba where he started dancing as a young boy, whether on the street or in school. He studied at the school for variety and show where in 1989 he received the title of professional dancer. His capabilities range from Hip Hop to folklore, from Classical to Salsa, from ChaChaCha to Rumba. He worked at various varieties and theatres in Havana and in 1992 became a member of the famous group for tourism and show, Cubanacan. His role here was choreographer and he created shows that went on tour through South America and Europe. His goal since 1995 has been to spread Latin American music and dances in Italy and thanks to his charisma he is extremely well-known as a club representative and for his extraordinary artistic capabilities as a dancer. He has worked as a dancer for many TV programmes at MTV. But he went even further! His artistic potential also spreads to other areas: he is known for his singing talents. He decided to create new shows for which he combined and merged a mix of Afro rhythms, Hip Hop and jazz with salsa.
Other performers for the event are: Yanek Revilla (Santiago de Cuba), Maykel Fonts, Alessia Cornacchia, and Enrique Aguero from Milano, Yunaisy Farray (Palermo) and more.
CUBAMEMUCHO is an idea of Raffael Sonnenschein.
This is what he has to say about his all Cuban Salsa Congress:
"We would like to keep the balance between the American and the Latin-American salsa styles. That is the reason why we support Cuban Salsa by putting it into the limelight around the globe. The Cuban Salsa has grown more popular than ever since Cubamemucho started to go on tour in 2005. Cubamemucho has made the Cuban dancing culture famous and established it at the top of the Salsa starry sky. Even during the phase of conception concerning the world tour of the Cuban Salsa Congresses, we already understood, what we're doing is pioneer work. We would be grateful, if our work helps to gain more fans to the Cuban salsa."
The Top Cuban Salsa Dancers from all over the world are invited to teach us in the workshops during the day and the stars show their entire skills during the shows at the gala nights.
